Chaffle Recipe
In order to achieve a more conventional waffle texture and get rid of any eggy flavor, this chaffle recipe uses almond flour. These cheesy waffles became popular overnight in the low-carb/keto community. Try them, they're fantastic, I promise! I make beautiful 4-inch chaffles with a cheap small waffle maker (like the Dash Mini Maker Waffle). The possibilities for using chaffles are endless!
Ingredients
1 large egg
1 tablespoon blanched almond flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
cooking spray
Directions
In a bowl, combine the egg, baking powder, and almond flour. Add the mozzarella cheese, then set the batter aside.
As directed by the manufacturer, preheat a waffle iron.
Cooking spray should be applied to the waffle maker's both sides before use. Spread out the batter with a spoon starting in the center after ladling half of it onto the waffle iron. Close the waffle maker and cook the pancakes for about 3 minutes, or until they are the desired doneness. Lift the waffle carefully out of the waffle maker, then proceed with the remaining batter. Give the chaffles two to three minutes to cool and crisp up.
