French Toast
Ingredients:
4 slices of bread
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Butter or oil, for cooking
Maple syrup and butter, for serving
Instructions:
Beat the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract (if using) in a shallow dish (if using).
Make sure to cover both sides of each slice of bread while dipping it into the egg mixture.
Over medium heat, preheat the pan. Incorporate some butter or oil into the pan.
Bread slices should be cooked in a pan for two to three minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Continue with the remaining slices of bread.
Hot French toast should be served with butter and maple syrup on top.
Optional mix-ins:
Chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts)
Diced dried fruit (such as apricots or dates)
Chocolate chips
Grated citrus zest (such as lemon or orange)
